Finding a Healthy and Happy You

Resident Wellness Support Group Weeks 5 & 6

So, I slacked last week , and tomorrow is my son’s first day of school so I will not be there either.

I would love to hear from all of you how things are going though so please e-mail me updates or comment on my post I would appreciate hearing from you.

Your assignments from 11:15am – Noon for 8/9/17:

  1. Journal for 10 min with the following prompt: “Have you made any changes to your lifestyle over the last 4 weeks? Why or Why not? ”
    1. Sub-questions for those that need them: What are the pros/cons of your change? Is this a sustainable way of living for you? Would you recommend it to family member/friend (why or why not)? Where do you see yourself in 3 months/6 months/ 1 year with this new change (or if you have not changed anything, are you hoping something will be different?)
  2. Compile everyone’s g-mails and  have a point person e-mail them to me so I can actually start this google doc on tips/tricks , fun recipes , etc.

I have had a lot of questions about cholesterol on this diet , its a rabbit hole but SUPER interesting, I suggest everyone do their own reading on this subject. Here is a great place to start :

Remember – this is a journey of averages , make today a little better than yesterday. Make a different choice in this moment than you did in the last. This is all we can ask for.

Also random side note. I tried pasta again for the first time today , like 1 cup worth of cooked spaghetti at faculty meeting, my 1hr and 2 hr postprandial glucose readings were on point (109 and 98) , but 2 hr after I was STARVING, like needed to eat again …I haven’t had that feeling in a while and reminds me just how addictive carbs are. So I ate some baked Cheese Bites  from Trader Joe’s and life was good again.
